Weekly Summary 12

Weekly Summary 12

This week was based on remixes and mashups. I actually really enjoyed this week as the assignments were pretty easy and fun to complete. To begin, I started with creating a tutorial on how to make your own logo. For the tutorial, I explained the process I went through to create the logo for my Sweet n Sour radio show from a few weeks back. It is a really easy tutorial, and I think that anyone who looks at it would be able to create their own no problem.

After completing the tutorial, I moved onto the mashup assignments of the week, in which I completed 12 stars. To begin, I did a Disney Mashup entitled How Far I’ll Let it Go. Here, I combined two songs from Disney’s Moana and Frozen to make one song, as they are Morph Shadow’s favorite Disney characters. I really enjoyed this assignment because I love all things, Disney. Then, I did a holiday mashup called Have a Merry Scary Christmas. I chose to feature Halloween, Christmas, and Thanksgiving because they are Morph Shadow’s favorite holidays. This was my favorite assignment of the week because the holiday season is quickly approaching, with Thanksgiving being next week, and it is my most favorite time of the year so I am really excited! Last, in terms of the mashups, I created a sports mash-up, similar to the holiday mash-up. Morph Shadow and I both have family from Winthrop, Massachusettes, so by default, we follow all New England sports teams. For this assignment, I combined the Patriots, Bruins, Red Sox and Celtics into one photo and I love the way it turned out. This was actually my most challenging assignment of the week in the sense that I wanted the different teams to really look good and blend well together, as opposed to just sloppily placing them together. I am really pleased with the way it turned out!

After the mashups, I completed two remix assignments. The first one I completed was a collage of your life emo-style. This assignment took me quite some time as I originally was going to base it on Morph-Shadow, but I had a hard time coming up with different photos to feature in the collage. So instead, I did it on myself but had to convert all of my photos into monotone, which took some time, to make it have a more emo vibe than bright and cheery. My second remix assignment was to write my name in cool letters, but including a cancer message into it. That being said, I skipped my name and just included a message on miracles and cancer, encouraging women to do monthly self-checks and go to their annual check-ups. I really liked this remix as I have known many people affected by cancer and it sucks. It truly sucks and a little encouragement never hurt anyone.

Last but not least are my daily creates for the week. I completed two, and of the two, my favorite was the black and white photo featuring a spot of red. I really like photos that are predominately black and white with a splash of color, so I really enjoyed seeing what everyone came up with.
