For week 7, we started working in groups on our radio shows. I am in a group with Kelsey, Olivia, and Katelyn and we created a google doc to begin planning our radio show Sweet n Sour. As a part of planning our radio show, we had to complete 10 stars worth of audio assignments we could use towards our show.
To begin the week, I created an introduction to our radio show, based off of the Good Morning Message to the Village, from the assignment bank, worth 2.5 stars. The introduction, which I created using Audacity, features sounds that I found from freesound that were related to superheroes, villains, and radio shows. The introduction also features the name of our show, as well as a countdown to begin the show. Then, I created a commercial to play as a break in our show. To do this, I used the guidelines from the Fictional Radio Ad assignment, worth 4.5 stars. This assignment was probably the hardest assignment that I completed this week. I had a rough time deciding what my commercial should feature. Then, when I figured it out, I had a hard time finding a sound that really fit what I wanted my commercial to sound like. In the end, though the background music is not quite what I was going for, it gets the point across and will be a great addition to our radio show. Last, I created a mixtape that could be featured in our show if we had gone in a more musical direction. The mixtape is composed of the soundtracks each of us created for our characters during audio week. To do this, I followed the guidelines of the Create Your Own Mixtape assignment, worth 4 stars.
In addition to these audio assignments, I also created a logo for our radio show. I really thought about what comes to mind when you think about sweet and sour things to create the font for the logo. And of course, I threw in a microphone so it related more to a radio show than to something like a type of candy.
Then, I completed a blog post about the progress we are making on our show. We basically have everything besides our characters stories finished, and of course the placing together of all of the components. I think once we get it all finished, barring it being complicated, it will be a wonderful show, and I look forward to hearing the final product!
Last but not least, my daily creates. I completed four this week.
